Don Moffitt is hired as Project Manager: Grocery store veteran will lead DCM to opening!

Durham Central Market has hired Don Moffitt as our Project Manager!
Don brings a unique combination of decades of experience in the grocery
industry with a deep and demonstrated commitment to Durham.

Don, a Durham resident and business development consultant, previously
worked with Whole Foods Market for 18 years. He served as vice president of
store development for seven years, and was responsible for the real estate,
design and construction of numerous stores. In addition he managed a store
in Texas and, for eight years, served as the southeast regional president
and chief operating officer. He will work with DCM as an
independent contractor through the opening of the store.

"We're tremendously excited to have Don as we get into the detailed
planning stages and head toward construction. Having him aboard gives us a
proven industry veteran who also happens to be a great community leader,"
said Michael Bacon, our president.

Don also has served on the Eno River Association's board for 12 years,
where he currently is treasurer and chairs the Audit and Finance Committee.
In addition, he sits on the Durham City-County Planning Commission and the
board of the North Carolina Conservation Network, and he is the assistant
coach of his daughter's soccer team.

Ownership shares in Durham Central Market are now also available via the
Web at www.durhamcentralmarket.org, using PayPal as a secure purchasing
method. Owner shares cost $100 per person and provide the owner with a
stake in the market and a vote in its decisions.

While owner shares confer benefits to shoppers, including a limited store
discount, the store will be open to any who wish to shop there. Those who
purchase shares before Memorial Day this year also will receive a free
reusable shopping bag as part of Durham Central Market's Sprouting Campaign.

Durham Central Market, Inc. is a cooperatively held corporation dedicated
to opening a grocery store in the Central Park district of downtown Durham.
The organization incorporated in April of 2008, and has set a goal of 1200
owners before its projected 2010 opening. Currently, 375 owners hold
shares in the cooperative.
