Come visit the office of Durham Central Market (538 Foster St.) this Friday evening from 6-9pm and see the wonderful photography of Caryl Feldacker.
Caryl recently completed her PhD in Health Behavior at UNC, and works in international health and development. Her photos are from India, Malawi, and Vietnam, all places where she works in HIV prevention, cholera prediction, and rural development programs. Although Caryl often takes portraits of people, some of her favorite photos are of people’s hands and feet, capturing the difficulty that characterizes the lives of many people in the developing world. Photos from her collection have been shown in Washington DC., St. Louis, North Carolina, Brazil and Ecuador. Her next assignment will be in Angola, November, 2009.
